AOK Security ("we", "our", or "us") operates the AOK GPS mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information to provide our fleet tracking services:
- Account Information: Email address and password (assigned by your administrator) used for authentication.
- Vehicle Location Data: Real-time GPS coordinates, speed, direction, and battery status collected from hardware trackers installed in your vehicles.
- User Device Data: While using the App, we may collect your mobile device's approximate location to display your position on the map relative to your vehicles. This data is processed ephemerally and is not stored on our servers.
- Technical Data: Crash logs, performance diagnostics, app useage analytics (such as feature interactions) and device identifiers required for App functionality, security and stability improvements.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data for the following purposes:
- To display the real-time location and history of your vehicle fleet.
- To manage your account and provide customer support.
- To send automated alerts (e.g., speeding, battery low) and reports via email.
- To prevent fraud and ensure the security of our infrastructure.
3. Data Storage and Sovereignty
We are committed to Australian data sovereignty.
- Location: All primary tracking data and user information is stored on secure private servers located in Sydney, Australia.
- Retention: Historical GPS data is retained for a period of 6 months, after which it is automatically deleted from our systems.
4. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with specific infrastructure providers necessary to operate the service:
- Google Maps Platform: To render maps and geolocation services within the App.
- SMTP2GO: To deliver transactional emails (password resets, alerts).
- DigitalOcean: For secure cloud hosting infrastructure.
- Google Firebase: To collect anonymized crash reports and app usage analytics to help us identify bugs and improve app performance.
5. Your Rights
Under Australian law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request corrections to any inaccurate information.
- Request the deletion of your account and associated data. You may initiate this request by contacting support at info@aoksecurity.com.au or via the settings menu in the App.
